Jacquelyn, “Lynn”, graduated from Converse College with a degree in psychology, but her true passion for design and construction was ignited when she got engaged to @cutecontractor. Together, they embarked on the journey of building their first home, an experience that captivated her and set the course for a 21-year career in construction and renovation throughout South Carolina, particularly in the Lowcountry.

In 2015, Lynn founded J. James Interiors, driven by her love for transforming homes into beautiful and functional spaces for her clients . Lighting, in particular, has always been a standout feature in her designs, seamlessly blending task lighting with decorative elements to enhance the ambiance of every room. This passion for lighting culminated in the opening of a lighting showroom in Charleston, SC, in 2021.

Returning to her hometown of Sumter, SC, felt like a natural calling for Lynn, driven by the desire to be closer to family and raise her four children in the same close-knit community she grew up in. After selling her lighting studio, she dedicated herself to J. James Interiors, focusing on projects for her clients and builders.

However, her love for the retail aspect of design called her back. She began collaborating closely with Sumter Lighting & Home, where she continues to assist clients in selecting the perfect lighting and decor pieces to elevate their spaces. With her extensive background in construction and her keen eye for design, Lynn remains dedicated to helping clients create homes that are not only beautiful but also uniquely their own.

When Lynn isn’t working, she loves spending time with friends, traveling, beach days, cooking, gardening, and hitting the golf course.
